Race Results - Where's my name?
When I doa report on a race, all I have for reference is the finishers' list with no team names. Sometimes I miss a name - especially some of our new members. Sorry. We would love to put in more race results so please contact Rob (or me) when you complete a race or an event. Better yet, send in a report on the race.

2009 Ht0 Open Water Swim for MS
I have again taken on the challenge of raising money for the MS Society of Canada by registering to participate in the 2009 HtO Open Water Swim for MS, at Thetis Lake on July 26, 2009 and raising funds for MS.
I am asking you to join me in support of a very good cause by making a donation. Any amount, no matter how small, will help me to reach my fundraising target $800). The money raised is used to support programs and services for people living with MS on Southern Vancouver Island, and for MS research initiatives across Canada. It is very easy to make a donation online:
1. Go to this link: http://www.mssociety.ca/en/events/online-misc.htm
2. Choose “Pledge a Participant”
3. Enter my name: Janet Hawkins
4. Once my name pops up, click “Pledge Me” and it will take you to my donation page.
On behalf of myself and the MS Society of Canada, I would like to thank you in advance for your generosity.

TWC Cycling News
Apparently Maurice spent Saturday morning resting for some big race so we were leaderless again. Our group was down to five riders, so one fact is very clear - Maurice is the draw. We did the usual Saturday morning route and everyone took their turn pulling the group around. Although it should be noted that Ken seemed to strategically move to the front only to direct us away from the ride extensions such as the Curteis Point loop. After new guy Andrew bailed out in Sidney to attend a wedding, we were down to four and this week all arrived back without incident - except perhaps for some minor traffic issues in the Francelli's parking lot caused by a member's larger-than-average vehicle.
The 2nd group - led by Steve & Janice Baker - scoured the peninsula looking for roadside cinnamon bun stands, but alas without superscouts Jim & Sue to aid the search, they were left bunless with no option but to ride the full 3 hours.
Bob Wooff
Saturday rides will continue, meeting at Francelli's Coffee Shop in the Royal Oak Shopping Centre at 9:00 am.
If anyone is interested in a ride on Saturday morning of about 2 hrs duration or 40 km please contact Rosemary at: rosehen@shaw.ca
The Wednesday evening group rides continue to leave at 6pm - also from Francelli's. It's generally a small group (3 or 4) and the route is up for negotiation each week. The two Waynes have been pleading to do the Munns Road route again though so be warned! Send me an email bwooff@telus.net if you're thinking of joining us and keep in mind that if it's raining I'm more likely to stay at home.
